TEXTBOOKS/LOST and FOUND
Textbooks were collected at exams. Students should have returned textbook(s) originally assigned to them. If a student does not return his/her book(s), replacement fees will be charged. If your student has lost items, please have him/her check Lost and Found for clothing, books, notebooks, etc. These items will be cleared and donated after school ends.
YEARBOOK and SENIOR PORTRAITS (2013)
CHAMA TRIBUTE YEARBOOK INSERTS:
The Chama tribute yearbook inserts will be left at the front office for your student to pick up if they want one to put in their yearbook. They will be handed out to seniors at graduation practice Friday morning.
SENIOR PORTRAITS FOR THE 2012-2013 YEARBOOK:
Formal AND casual portraits from Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch only will be in the yearbook.
- The last day seniors can be photographed and still be in our yearbook is Sept. 15, 2012.
- Call TODAY to set up your senior's appointment with them at 423-892-1332. They open for sessions on May 21. Up to $45 in discounts are available for those who have pictures taken by June 30. See your Lifetouch packet of information for more details.
WORK OPPORTUNITY
For those students wishing to be considered for a janitorial position at CA for next school year, please complete an application form available at the business office and turn it in before the end of the school year. All applicants need to meet with Ms. Vonna (423-667-3630). Summer work hours are available.

SAU SUMMER ACT TEST DATES
If your current junior (rising senior) needs to take/re-take the ACT test in order to qualify for Composition 101/102 next fall, SAU will offer the test on the following dates:
- June 14—1 pm
- July 19—1 pm
- July 26—1 pm

CLASS of 2013 COMPOSITION 101/102 REQUIREMENTS
Students may qualify for Composition 101/102 by having ALL FOUR requirements:
- 3. 0 gpa
- B+ average in prior English courses
- 23 English score on the ACT
- 23 Reading score on the ACT (may substitute a TCAP score of at least 5 for the reading score only)
Students in Composition 101/102 are essentially skipping a year of English. Composition 101/102 is a COLLEGE level course and students should be prepared for a higher degree of academic rigor and personal responsibility.
Other dual enrollment courses (Earth Science and Listening to Music) also require a 3.0 gpa.
COURSE REQUESTS
April 16-19, students made course requests for 2012-2013. These are requests only, not the actual schedule. The PowerSchool portal will be open for course selection until June 1st. Parents and students may check courses and make changes online. Course request guides are available online from the CA website under Weekly Updates > Registrar Announcements. (PowerSchool will not be accessible from June 2 until after registration in August.)
US History—Summer

CAYA (Collegedale Adventist Youth in Action) Events
The CAYA Boys Basketball program: for grades 8-12, will have tryouts for its Summer Boys basketball Team on April 29. Tryouts will begin at 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Tryouts will be held at the Collegedale Academy gym. The gym will open at 10:00 a.m. The Summer Boys Basketball Team will play in the UTC Team Camp for Boys June 11-13 and scheduled games against some local AAU teams.
Boys Basketball Camp: CA gym July 22-25. Ages: entering 8-12 grade. Cost of the camp is $50 and the currently scheduled time is from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Camp will consist of drills, games, and scrimmages. More details will be available after school ends. Girls’ Basketball Camp: June 12,13,14 CAYA girls basketball camp 8:30 – 12:00, June 26,27,28 8:30 – 12:00. $75 fee for each camp or $125 for both, girls in 7th-12th grade.
All-Skills 4 Day Volleyball Camp and 2012 Volleyball Tryouts
CAYA Volleyball will be hosting a summer volleyball camp for girls who are interested in improving their fundamental technique in a fun and challenging environment.
The All-Skills Camp in July is designed to develop and improve individual skills while focusing on the team aspect of the game with training variety, exact dates/times TBA. Additionally, 2012 CAYA Girls Volleyball tryouts will be on Monday, August 6 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Both events will take place at CA's gym.
